Since March 2020, we have been working on collecting data on anti-Asian racism, translating key numbers and trends for policymakers and citizens, and sharing our findings independently with the media, national governments, nonprofits, and the European Commission.
We facilitate dialogue on the subject of racism and racial discrimination against Asians in Europe, with the aim of promoting cultural diversity and preserving the rights of Asian diasporas in Europe.

14 Mar 2020 An adhoc group meets with the aim or starting documenting anti-Asian racism
6 Jun 2020 The adhoc group holds its first board elections
23 Aug 2021 Asian Voices Europe is registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK)
Jun 2022 We finally have a business bank account!
Aug 2022 We join the Permanent Civil Society Forum on Anti-Racism, becoming the first Asian-run organization to consult the European Commission on its EU Anti-racism Action Plan
Oct 2025 We join ENAR, the European Network Against Racism
Our work
Jan - Nov 2021 We conduct our first legal project, researching how racism is defined, named and combated in the Netherlands. Legal counsel: Van Benthem & Keulen (Utrecht)
Aug - Sept 2021 We launch Survey 2.0, the first known Europe-wide survey on anti-Asian racism, and collect 1,000+ responses (of which approx. 800 are valid)
Sep 2022 - Jan 2023 We conduct our second legal project, Fair Work for Asians, researching anti-Asian racism in the context of Dutch, German, and European Union Law, as well as hosting a legal clinic for Asian workers facing discrimination in the Netherlands. Collaboration with the Fair Work & Equality Clinic at the University of Amsterdam.
Oct 2026 - Dec 2027 We will conduct 3 public-facing projects (legal research, poster workshops, and a storytelling campaign) through our first-ever grant. Funded by Filia die Frauenstiftung
Our team
Asian Voices Europe is run by a group of (unpaid) volunteers who are passionate about building a better future. We come from diverse professional backgrounds including communications, art & design, product management, data science, law, and much, much more! We work in teams, focusing on projects based on our interest and/or field of expertise.
We also regularly get together online (and whenever possible, in-person) to talk about the other important things in life, like the best Asian restaurants around Europe, trading recipes, and the queer feminist agenda. Sound interesting? Come join us!
